CCIA Welcomes New House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady

Washington — As Paul Ryan becomes House speaker, Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, was chosen to take over as House Ways & Means Committee Chairman. The Computer & Communications Industry Association appreciates Brady’s vision to use his new position to develop equitable tax and trade rules that can boost economic growth.

The following can be attributed to CCIA President & CEO Ed Black, who testified before the House Judiciary Committee this week on the importance of having the type of global trading rules that prevent the growth of digital trade barriers:

“The tech industry congratulates Chairman Brady and looks forward to working with him to grow the economy and support a global trade framework appropriate for the 21st Century. We have appreciated the attention Congress has been paying to digital trade barriers.  The tech industry is and can continue to be a bright spot in the economy if international innovation and expansion are not blocked.”
