CCIA Appreciates House E&C Proposal to Advance U.S. Competitiveness on AI

Washington – As part of the communications title of the FY 2025 budget reconciliation proposal, the House Energy & Commerce Committee has included a provision aimed at boosting U.S. competitiveness in artificial intelligence innovation. The proposed moratorium on enforcement of state and local regulations would importantly encourage deployment of AI technologies to ensure that the U.S. continues to flourish in this space.

The Computer & Communications Industry Association has advocated for regulations that enable a competitive U.S. tech industry for more than 50 years.

The following can be attributed to CCIA President & CEO Matt Schruers:

“CCIA is encouraged by the proposed moratorium on inconsistent AI regulatory processes. A consistent approach to AI regulation will ensure U.S. developers remain competitive in the global marketplace.”
