CCIA Statement On Senate Commerce Confirming Trusty as FCC Commissioner

Washington – The Senate Commerce Committee has confirmed Olivia Trusty as the third Republican Commissioner at the Federal Communications Commission. The nomination now goes to the full Senate, where Trusty is expected to obtain majority approval.

The Computer & Communications Industry Association has advocated for net neutrality and expansive high-speed broadband access for more than 25 years.

The following can be attributed to CCIA President Matt Schruers:

“We appreciate Congress’ advancing Trusty’s nomination and look forward to working with her once she is voted by the full Senate. In addition to the importance of filing the full FCC roster, Congress should renew the Commission’s spectrum auction authority to authorize next-generation deployment of innovative broadband services to support the connected economy.”
