Washington — Today, Senators Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.), and Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) demanded that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell bring net neutrality legislation to the Senate floor for an immediate vote. The Save the Internet Act passed the House of Representatives on a bipartisan vote two months ago, but so far, the Senate Majority has blocked any action on the bill that would bring back critical net neutrality protections that banned ISPs from arbitrarily blocking, slowing down, or discriminating against Internet traffic.

“Two months ago, a bipartisan majority in the House stood up for consumers and small business that want equal access to the Internet. The Senate passed essentially the same bill in the last Congress, so we applaud Sens. Markey, Cantwell, and Wyden — longtime advocates for consumers and net neutrality — for their leadership in calling for Senate action on this bill. We need critical net neutrality protections, and we call on the Senate to pass the Save the Internet Act.”
