CCIA, Tech Company Members Meet Incoming Estonia EU Presidency

Tallinn, Estonia — The Computer & Communications Industry Association is on 7-8 June leading a delegation of its tech companies to meet with senior Estonian officials ahead of the upcoming Estonian Presidency of the Council of the EU starting 1 July.

Estonia has been a proponent of a true European Digital Single Market and the tech companies will discuss how to make those goals a reality during Estonia’s Presidency.

CCIA Europe will also present the tech industry’s recommendations.

The following can be attributed to CCIA Europe Vice President James Waterworth:

“We hope that Estonia, itself of an example of a country that has positively embraced digitalisation, injects some much needed pro-innovation thinking into the European Commission’s proposals on the Digital Single Market.  The upcoming negotiations will set Europe either on a pro-technology, pro-single market approach or a protectionist one hostile to to digital transformation.”
