Employment – Digital Economy Firms
- Methodology: Using data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Fred Database, we estimate the number of firms in the digital economy by multiplying the retail and wholesale trade NAICS codes (in the list below) by the share of e-commerce retail sales as a percent of total sales. We then add that number to the number of firms in the remainder of the digital economy NAICS codes in the list below.
