Impacts of Global Digital Service Tax Contagion on the United States

At least a dozen countries have targeted U.S. companies with discriminatory digital services taxes (DSTs), and dozens more are considering DSTs, highlighting global contagion risk. If all foreign jurisdictions imposed DSTs, this study finds that U.S. companies would lose $23 billion in revenue, threatening 31,000 U.S. jobs and up to $5 billion in federal tax receipts.
