CCIA Endorses the SAT Streamlining Act

Washington – The Computer & Communications Industry Association applauds and urges the swift passage of Senators Ted Cruz and Peter Welch’s legislation, the Satellite and Telecommunications Streamlining (SAT) Act, introduced today. The SAT Streamlining Act would direct the FCC to revise regulations that govern licenses and grants of U.S. market access for geostationary (GSO) and non-geostationary orbital (NGSO) satellites, providing a critical step toward regulatory certainty and efficiency needed for American companies to compete globally.

The following can be attributed to CCIA Vice President for Federal Affairs Brian McMillan:

“The current regulatory process can be slow and unpredictable, threatening to divert valuable space investment and job creation overseas. The SAT Streamlining Act is the necessary legislative action to break bureaucratic logjams and ensure that the U.S. remains the global leader in space.”
