Senate Confirms Slater as Assistant Attorney General for Antitrust

Washington – The U.S. Senate has confirmed Gail Slater to lead the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division as Assistant Attorney General. Slater served on the National Economic Council during the previous President Trump Administration, among other government service positions.

The Computer & Communications Industry Association has advocated for a competitive tech industry since 1972.

The following can be attributed to CCIA President & CEO Matt Schruers:

“As the U.S. seeks to strengthen its economy and compete with foreign rivals, it will be important for antitrust enforcement efforts to focus on areas of anti-competitive harm and not instead target digital services based on their consumer successes. A strong technology sector will ensure that the U.S. can compete globally, and we look forward to working with AAG Slater to chart a path that promotes competition in line with existing antitrust law.”
