CCIA Applauds FCC Vote to Authorize Additional Spectrum for Internet-Connected Devices

Washington – Some good news today in the United States’ mission to find more broadband spectrum to run the connected economy: the Federal Communications Commission voted unanimously today to expand the unlicensed use of the 6 GHz band of spectrum.

For more than three decades, the Computer & Communications Industry Association has supported expanded deployment of broadband to meet the growing demand for internet-based goods, services, and communications.

The following can be attributed to Stephanie Joyce, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff:

“We applaud the FCC for delivering on a broadly shared goal of maximizing the use of broadband-ready wireless spectrum. Under Chair Rosenworcel’s leadership, the FCC has made significant strides in authorizing more uses of spectrum as the digital services industry keeps innovating to enhance the user experience.”
