Tech Industry Welcomes Slovak Council Presidency

Brussels, Belgium — The tech industry welcomes the start of the Slovak Republic’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union tomorrow, 1st July.  The six month long Slovak Presidency will kick off Council discussions on key Digital Single Market proposals, including on audio-visual, telecoms reform, copyright and finalise the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield.

CCIA Europe met with senior Slovak officials, including President Andrej Kiska, in May and presented our Presidency recommendations.

“The Slovak Presidency will steer negotiations on key Digital Single Market proposals including copyright, telecommunications and data flows.”
