Brian McMillan

Vice President, Federal Affairs

Brian McMillan is the Vice President, Federal Affairs at the Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA), where he leads the Association’s privacy, competition, trade regulation, telecommunications, and emerging technology advocacy efforts.

Brian most recently served as Congressman Eric Swalwell’s (CA) Chief Counsel and Legislative Director. There, he spearheaded efforts to pass multiple technology bills into law. Prior to that, Brian spent numerous years as the principal technology advisor for the American Association for Justice, leading the Association’s work on comprehensive privacy, intermediary liability, data security, and antitrust legislation.

Brian has also worked in other congressional offices, including U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (WA) and in the U.S. House of Representatives with the Committee on Ways and Means, Health Subcommittee. He holds a B.S. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law. Brian is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia.
