CCIA Files Comments to FTC and DOJ on Competitor Collaborations

Washington – The Computer & Communications Industry Association submitted comments to the Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division in response to their joint consultation seeking public comment on competitor collaboration guidance.

CCIA’s comments emphasize the importance of new agency guidance that provides businesses with legal predictability and certainty by maintaining legal safe harbors, particularly in high-technology markets. They also note the transformative and procompetitive benefits of AI-based collaboration in sophisticated pricing tools.

CCIA has advocated for a competitive technology sector for more than 50 years.

The following can be attributed to CCIA’s Vice President of Global Competition and Regulatory Policy, Krisztian Katona:

“Clear and evidence-based guidance from the Agencies is critical to provide businesses with the certainty needed to pursue legitimate collaborations that are essential to innovation, digital transformation, and the development of products and services that benefit consumers.”
