Executive Order Could Boost Commercial Space Deployment

Washington – President Trump signed an Executive Order on Wednesday to streamline regulations that cover commercial rocket launches. The updates include eliminating burdensome rules and expediting regulatory reviews with the aim of ensuring the United States maintains its leading role in the commercial use of space.

The Computer & Communications Industry Association has advocated for emerging technology issues and innovation for more than 50 years. The organization was proud to open its Space & Spectrum Policy Center earlier this year to focus on advancing the nation’s deployment of satellite and high-band wireless services.

The following can be attributed to Karina Perez, Director of the Center:

“Streamlining the launch process can ensure fast deployment of Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations that have the capability to connect millions of Americans to robust, reliable broadband service. We look forward to working with the Administration as we move toward enabling the growth of the commercial satellite industry.”
