CCIA Statement Ahead of Senate Judiciary Antitrust Hearing

Washington – The Senate Committee on the Judiciary, Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy, and Consumer Rights is scheduled to hold a hearing, “Big Fixes for Big Tech,” on Tuesday.

The Computer & Communications Industry Association has advocated for competition in the tech industry for over 50 years.

The following can be attributed to CCIA President & CEO Matt Schruers:

“News of advances by overseas competition such as DeepSeek’s AI offerings should serve as a wake-up call to get US policymakers aligned on strategy to advance American tech leadership. Congress should focus on building up the infrastructure and computing capabilities to sustain technology advances. Tearing down U.S. market leaders will unfortunately not lead to them being replaced by other U.S. firms –  but rather by large Chinese companies. If our competition policy is making us less globally competitive, then we’re doing it wrong.”
