Yesterday, the European Parliament Rapporteur, Anna Maria Corazza-Bildt, published her draft report on the free flow of data in the EU. The leading Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) will discuss the report on March 21. The Committee vote, scheduled for June 4, provides the mandate to start negotiations with the Council with a possibly adoption end the year.
CCIA remains a staunch supporter of achieving a thriving European digital single market, for which data flows is a prerequisite.
We welcome MEP Corazza-Bildt’s ambitious report which will limit data localisation in EU Member States and boost Europe’s digital economy.
