Strasbourg, France — The Council of Europe signed an agreement today with the tech industry, including the Computer & Communications Industry Association, to promote a safe and open internet that respects human rights, the rule of law and democracy. The agreement come in the form of an exchange of letters with various associations and tech firms. Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjørn Jagland signed the agreement during a ceremony in Strasbourg on the first day of the World Forum for Democracy.
