CCIA Met With Incoming Maltese Ministers Ahead Of EU Presidency

CCIA met with Maltese ministers in Valletta on October 20-21 to discuss Malta’s EU Presidency.  Malta will during the first half of 2017 steer EU Member States’ negotiations on important issues including copyright, audio-visual, telecoms, ePrivacy and data flows.

CCIA Europe presented our recommendations when meeting with Emmanuel Mallia (Malta’s Minister for Competitiveness, Digital and Services Economy).

In a joint statement, released by CCIA, Minister Mallia said:

“Malta’s Presidency will be committed to advancing EU reforms towards a Digital Single Market that is innovative, competitive and open to foreign investments, with a view to drive economic growth across the EU.”

CCIA also met with Christian Cardona (Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business), Kathleen Hill (U.S. Ambassador to Malta), Edward Woods (Chairman of Malta Communications Authority), senior representatives from the ministries of Justice, Home Affairs and Consumer Affairs as well as Maltese tech leaders.
