Washington, DC- The Executive Committee of the Computer & Communications Industry Association (CCIA) elected Edward M. Peters, Cerebellum Software Inc’s Chief Executive Officer and Director, as its new Chairman of the board. Mr. Peters has more than a decade of experience working in the technology industry, and he most recently spent four years as senior vice president and general manager for MERANT/INTERSOLV’s DataDirect division.

“With technology evolving daily and regulatory issues struggling to keep pace, I hope that during my tenure CCIA will play an active role in serving our members by providing a strong voice on current and future technology issues that loom on the digital horizon,” says Peters.
Prior to joining MERANT DataDirect, Mr. Peters held a number of senior management positions and academic appointments, including managing director of Integrated Learning Systems, a management and information technology consulting firm; vice president for information management technology at Hay Group, Inc.; and vice president for strategic technology and research at Manufacturers Hanover Trust. Mr. Peters was also a visiting Lecturer in informatics at Catholic University in Leuven, Belgium.
Mr. Peters has been the recipient of numerous industry awards including the President’s Award for Excellence from Guide International and the R/A/D International Award for Excellence in Repository-Based System Design.
Mr. Peters holds a B.A. in government and an M.S. in industrial engineering from Lehigh University. His doctoral work in applied economics/information management is in progress at the University of Amsterdam.
